Upper Stone is a rural locality in the Shire of Hinchinbrook, Queensland, Australia.[2] In the 2021 census, Upper Stone had a population of 111 people.[1]

Geography

The north-western and western edge of the locality are within Girringun National Park which extends into neighbouring Lannercost, Wallaman and Mount Fox.[3]

Stoneleigh is a neighbourhood in the north of the locality (18°44′54″S 145°57′04″E / 18.7483°S 145.9511°E / -18.7483; 145.9511 (Stoneleigh (neighbourhood))).[4]

Demographics

In the 2016 census Upper Stone had a population of 87 people.[5]

In the 2021 census, Upper Stone had a population of 111 people.[1]

Community groups

The Upper Stone branch of the Queensland Country Women's Association meets at 19 Stoneleigh Road.[6]
