Political poetry

The trouble with the Political poetry article to which the template links is that it is hopelessly narrow in focus, implying that political poetry started in 1800 at the earliest! There is an article on Spruchdichtung but that redirects to Gnomic poetry, which is OK for poets like Spervogel but hardly adequate for Walther.

I suggest we liberate Spruchdichtung from the redirect - even if it's just a stub with a definition it will be more helpful than the Political poetry article - and make that the link from "Genres" in this template. In fact there is a very impressive article de:Sangspruchdichtung in the German WP, but it's way too long to translate (and it would be a very time-consuming task to add all the necessary references). --Pfold (talk) 09:35, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
