disscussing cities or cities with municipal councils

here term "city" has used loosely. in sri lanka a settlement should have a local government body to be considered as a city. the list of sri lankan municipalities list here. here there are some entries which are not a have a local government.eg.polonnaruwa.so i suggest edit this and use this template only for cities with a municipal council only.--Chanakal (talk) 12:41, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello! I updated this template by the government site's list. There are listing that the settlements having municipal councils and also urban councils. I think the settlements having municipal councils are "city", and the settlements having urban councils are "city" or "town". Honeplus (talk) 04:08, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
