How I'm doing things

Since creating this template, I've followed a specific stylistic approach:

  • Alphabetise the names, which seems to be the easiest way to navigate the box.
  • Add all names for Mitsubishi vehicles, but pipe the link to the correct WP page. This is so that a reader who, for example, does not know that their Mitsubishi Nimbus is really a rebadged Mitsubishi Chariot can still find the article they want in a single click.
  • I've put a <br> linebreak in the 'Engine' section to separate the alphanumeric codes from the engine family names. This is purely to make navigation easier, as I find it's better to have them on separate lines.
  • To keep the name of the car/engine/platform/cocept/etc from wrapping to the next line, I've created non-breaking spaces. I've also done the same before every pipe-separator.

Title removals

I completely disagree with the removal of titles from this list. As you can see, this is a complete list of every known model variant sold under the brand. The removal of names like Montero, Mirage G4, and L300 which are sold in many markets worldwide is completely pointless. The removed titles at the moment include: Mirage G4, Lancer Fortis, Hunter, L200, Montero, Montero Sport, Nativa, Pajero Sport, L300, and several other discontinued models. I refuse to allow these names to be removed, especially when considering that the L200 is sold under that nameplate in over 73 countries and the significance of names like the Montero and L300. The excuse "it is unacceptable" is bogus as many other templates (ie. Chrysler, Dodge, Chevrolet, etc.) include all known name variants. There is not a huge amount of clutter either, with only a few models suffering.

I find the concept of removing these nameplates ridiculous and until a consensus can be reached I will keep it as it is. There is no reason not to include these important names. Even the least important, the Hunter, was fine under one "L200 / Hunter / Sportero / Strada / Triton" link as I did in an attempt to compromise. It was not enough. As an expert when it comes to international Mitsubishi nameplates, I support the keeping of the removed models. Thank you. This was not a problem to anyone until now. As another self-proclaimed expert on Mitsu badging, I beg to differ. This list makes it hard to find cars and includes obscure versions and needless duplications. No need to have both Lancer Celeste and Celeste (actually, I would have preferred Celeste). No need to have both Lancer and Lancer Evolution, absolutely no need for Mirage G4 or Lancer Fiore or Nativa or other obscurities that provide in my opinion needless clutter. If it's just duplicated variants (e.g. Lancer vs Lancer Evolution), they do clutter and the variant should be removed (i.e. in preference of keeping just Lancer) unless they are significantly different (I wouldn't say they are). If, however, it is international names for the same car (e.g. Magna, Verada, V3000, Diamante) or different bodyshapes on the same platform (can't think of a Mitsubishi example but say VW Golf, Golf Plus), they should stay. I reckon that's mostly true - except something as obscure as the V3000 or the Hunter. Having "Pajero Pinin", "Pinin", and "Shogun Pinin" (all linking to Pajero iO) seems crazy - just Pajero Pinin would suffice. Mr.choppers | ✎  14:36, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't say the V3000 is obscure - it was the specific name for a specific market (in this case, NZ). People from there may not necessarily know it was a Verada, Diamante, Magna and vice versa (I had no idea the V3000 existed) hence the utility to list the full names in this particular case CtrlXctrlV (talk) 12:18, 21 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
In this case a decision needs to be made what is obscure and not obscure. The L100-400 series is not obscure. The VRG/VRM is more obscure. The Hunter is the only nameplate I think is obscure enough to validate a removal from the current vehicle lineup. 99.243.38.30 (talk) 15:01, 29 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Minicab/Town Box

Curiously Town Box is listed as a current, and discontinued model. Current links to the Minicab article, discontinued links to Town Box's own article. Just like the Minicab is available on the market as a rebadge of the Suzuki Every, the Town Box is available as a rebadge of the Suzuki Every Wagon, it is no longer discontinued. Also, somewhat questionable if these two should have their own pages given the two are sister models. Minicab van is the commercial version, while Town Box is the consumer version. Just like the Minicab MiEV does not have its own page. Suzuki Every, and Suzuki Every Wagon do not have their own pages, they are mentioned in the Suzuki Carry article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.113.236.218 (talk) 18:43, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
