Template split

What is the rationale behind splitting Casualty into a separate template, yet leaving Holby City and HolbyBlue as one, when all three shows still co-exist in the same fictional universe? Frickative 21:06, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vanessa

Please stop adding Vanessa to the Holby City characters. This template lists the regular characters only, and as she does not appear in the opening titles, she is a recurring character, a section which is linked to. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.32.48.236 (talk) 17:41, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are continuing to fail to understand the purpose of a navbox. It is designed to aid navigation between related articles. There is an article on Vanessa, therefore it should be linked to. It makes absolutely no difference whether she is a recurring or regular character. Any recurring character with an independent article should be linked to. Jayne Grayson was a recurring character, yet has an independent article and so should be linked to. Lady Byrne is a recurring character, yet has an independent article and so should be linked to. Any recurring character without an article is covered by the general recurring characters page. Removing links to independent articles actively impedes the use of the template as a navigational aid. Which part of this did you not understand? Perhaps you could deign to reply instead of ignoring explanation and continuing to force your own opinion onto the template. Directly from WP:NAV: "Navigation templates provide navigation". Again, what you are doing is making the template less effective as a navigational tool. Frickative 17:13, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
