Template talk:Editnotices/Page/General of the Armies

Washington's seniority over Pershing has nothing to do with his being first Commanding General of the army. The article General of the Armies makes it plain that Pershing outranked Washington until 1976 when Public Law 94-479 was passed, giving Washington seniority. I propose amending this template to read "Washington is senior due to Public Law 94-479" or words to that effect, as the current template contradicts the article.  Done After reading the article, the law, and a bit of the talk page archives, I don't know whether Washington and Pershing really hold the same grade or whether they hold different grades with the same name. Or whether the grade(s) is/are 6-star or 5-star-but-superior-to-other-5-stars. But either way Washington's higher rank is due to that law. Anomie 01:17, 30 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
