Template-protected edit request on 2 October 2016

I request that the page be created without any changes to the prepared text. -Prahlad balaji (talk) 01:02, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

We can copy the code from Template:Editnotices/Namespace/Module to this sandbox page, if that's what you're requesting. The page matches the blacklist entry Template:Editnotices\/.* <noedit|errmsg=titleblacklist-custom-editnotice>, which means that even if this page is created, you yourself are still unable to edit the page. All this sandbox page would do is allow a venue for template editors (not all users) to make changes and request edits to the fully-protected Module namespace notice. — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 04:16, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Andy M. Wang and Prahlad balaji: Seems to me like you want to have sandbox and testcases subpages of editnotice templates pages exempted from the titleblacklist. I don't know what kind of regex needs to be added to MediaWiki:Titleblacklist or MediaWiki:Titlewhitelist to make that happen though - maybe a question for the talk page? @Jo-Jo Eumerus: Hadn't thought of whitelisting, but not sure if that's a good idea without more visibility. I think it would allow users to create pseudointerface messages for legitimate sandbox subpages ("Template:Editnotices/(Page|Protection)/.*/(sandbox|testcases)". (I copied over the Module notice in the meantime) — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 15:30, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. Seems like we need a way to distinguish between sandboxes/testcases of edit notices and edit notices for sandboxes/testcases. Or just use talkspace for sandboxing/testcasing. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 15:38, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
