Ack! Ok well my initial impression was that it's *really big*. But I guess it would need to be.. it's quite a broad topic. I would recommend splitting it into two separate templates, one dealing specifically with Cannabis/Marijuana drug policy and legalities and another for alcohol or the rest. Or another option would be to split it into Pro-prohibition and Pro-legalization templates.. Either way it looks like you've already got them separated pretty well, it's just a matter of splitting it up into separate templates. Of course the size doesn't really matter if it defaults to collapse though, but that's just what i think.. that it might seem a bit overwhelming and actually harder to navigate. -- œ 06:51, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Responding to critiique request prior to its use

(this is a repost from my own talk page -- I just noticed the request to reply here) First, I'm no expert on this subject and seeing from your work here it is obviously a vast topic. My impression is that such a template is a valuable resource. I wonder how the various prohibition groups will respond when the wikipedia article that describes their organization includes links to drug related festivals. User:OlEnglish's suggestion to break this up into separate templates might solve that potential problem.

I personally would like to see something along the lines of CIA drug trafficking and CIA transnational anti-crime and anti-drug activities because of the relationship between global concentrations of power and drug traffic. These articles would be related to the history and politics of drug trade. Policy is at the core of politics. However, the template appears large enough already and the template's focus appears to be drug specific organizations. - Steve3849 talk 05:29, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

To editor DexDor: Yet they both fall under the same guideline. So we seem to have a contradiction there. Says who that WP:CAT#T should trump WP:SORTKEY? -- œ 06:28, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

WP:SORTKEY is about how a page should be sorted if it is in a category, but whether a page should be in a particular category is covered by other guidelines. E.g. SORTKEY includes a character for WikiProjects, but that doesn't mean they should be categorized under Category:Articles. There may (or may not) be cases (e.g. other parts of the category structure than Articles) where those sortkeys are used. DexDor (talk) 06:39, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Understood. And I agree with you. I started a discussion about it at WT:Categorization#WP:CAT#T and WP:SORTKEY just in case. Feel free to throw your 2 cents in. -- œ 06:45, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
