ALT1: ... that good is beautiful in Sitti Nurbaya?
ALT2: ... that, despite its "clichéed descriptions", Sitti Nurbaya is considered one of the most important works of Indonesian literature?
ALT3: ... that Sitti Nurbaya may have been written in response to the author being told to marry another woman while already married?
ALT4: ... that in certain circles Sitti Nurbaya may be read more often in synopsis than as a whole?
ALT5: ... that Sitti Nurbaya may be "the first true Indonesian novel"?

  • I think the original hook is fine, it being interesting yet cryptic enough. I would leave the choice of ALT hooks to others; my only comment on the alts is my feeling that ALT4 is the weakest by a large margin. Ohconfucius ¡digame! 03:00, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
