Qualifiers
Hello. Can someone familiar with this template please add info about the |qual= parameter please. It is supported, as per Module:Convert/wikidata. Thanks! Rehman 14:03, 13 March 2019 (UTC)
- Search the documentation on the template page for "Wikidata" to find how it can be used. If there is a problem, please give an example of what wikitext would be wanted on what article, along with what it should do. Johnuniq (talk) 00:06, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

- Sorry, I think you misunderstood, or I wasn't clear. The feature is already there. This template currently supports the parameter

I had totally forgotten about qual but it is documented in the talk archives at May 2017#Wikidata qualifiers + May 2017#Module version 17. What I mean is that those archives need to be used to update the documentation on the template page. I might get around to that but not for a while I'm afraid. "abbr=unit"-like behaviour
Quick question. I love being able to use "abbr=unit" (honestly my favourite function, as I hate scientific notation in what should be layman formatting), but is there any way to make that behaviour work with "abbr=out" or "in"? I admit, not a huge number of applicable situations, but there are times when you want to output "150 million km" but still want to have an input of "one astronomical unit". — Huntster (t @ c) 01:41, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
- No, sorry. Using abbr=unit forces abbr=on for both input and output units. As you know, abbr=unit does not abbreviate number names.
{{convert|12.3|AU|e9km e9mi|1|abbr=unit}}→ 12.3 AU (1.8 billion km; 1.1 billion mi)
- If it's AU that is a problem, it would be possible to define another unit where "astronomical unit" is the symbol rather than "AU". I can try that in Module:Convert/extra if you like, but we would need to choose a unit code.
