It is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all recipients.

Usage

This is intended to be used on categories which contains sets of people who have received awards. An awful lot of our readers seem to interpret these pages as "lists of recipients", and try to add people, or write to us to ask why someone isn't listed - and, for some reason, the categories for medals and other distinctions seem to be where this is most common. Syntax

{{Medal category|award=x|nationality=y|period=z}}

or

|nationality=

}}

Parameters

• |award= (required) – The name of the article about the award without the brackets [[ ]]
• |nationality= (optional) – An adjective which is put before "recipients", most often used for their nationality (depending on categorisation).
• |period= (optional) – comes after "award", eg/ "in World War II". Also useful for other notes.

Example

{{Medal category|award=Purple Heart}} gives:

This is a category listing, which serves as an index of existing Wikipedia articles about recipients of the Purple Heart.
It is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all recipients.

{{Medal category|award=Victoria Cross|nationality=Australian|period=during World War II}} gives :
