Template:Mars symbol

This template generates a Mars symbol with alternative text. The default alt text is "Mars symbol". The text is not normally visible to readers, but may be displayed by web browsers when images are switched off, is read out loud by screen readers for those with visual impairment, and can be used by search engines to determine the content of the image.

Note: on mobile browsers the Unicode symbol will be rendered as an emoji in some circumstances. This template provides a workaround for those situations.

Usage

• {{Mars symbol}} produces
• {{Mars symbol|alt=male}} produces
  (The alt text is only read by screen reading software.)
