This template is used to generate an external link to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) diagram for a specific airport. These links change every 28 days and the template calculates the correct URL based on the current date.

Parameters

  1. (required) – airport number as found in URL of the FAA's digital - Terminal Procedures Publication/Airport Diagrams. For a URL of http://aeronav.faa.gov/d-tpp/2407/00001AD.PDF, the airport number is 00001.
  2. (optional) – airport name

Examples

  1. For Abilene Regional Airport, without optional parameter:
    • URL: http://aeronav.faa.gov/d-tpp/2407/00001AD.PDF
    • Usage: {{FAA-diagram|00001}}
    • Result: FAA Airport Diagram (PDF), effective July 11, 2024
  2. For O'Hare International Airport, with optional parameter:

Technical information

The airport diagrams are part of the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) which is updated on a 28-day cycle as per the ICAO. For the FAA's digital - Terminal Procedures Publication/Airport Diagrams, this causes a change in the URL involving four numbers: the first two represent the year (09 for 2009, 10 for 2010) and the second two represent the current AIRAC cycle (01 through 13). This template uses the current date (presently 18 Jul 2024) to calculate the effective date and the matching four-digit cycle number. The following is a list of the current and upcoming cycle numbers and effective dates:

  • 2407 – effective 11 JUL 2024 to 08 AUG 2024
  • 2408 – effective 08 AUG 2024 to 05 SEP 2024
  • 2409 – effective 05 SEP 2024 to 03 OCT 2024
  • 2410 – effective 03 OCT 2024 to 31 OCT 2024
  • 2411 – effective 31 OCT 2024 to 28 NOV 2024
  • 2412 – effective 28 NOV 2024 to 26 DEC 2024
  • 2500 – effective 26 DEC 2024 to 23 JAN 2025
  • 2501 – effective 23 JAN 2025 to 20 FEB 2025
  • 2502 – effective 20 FEB 2025 to 20 MAR 2025
  • 2503 – effective 20 MAR 2025 to 17 APR 2025
  • 2504 – effective 17 APR 2025 to 15 MAY 2025
  • 2505 – effective 15 MAY 2025 to 12 JUN 2025
  • 2506 – effective 12 JUN 2025 to 10 JUL 2025
