Tarnopol Ghetto

Created by Poeticbent (talk). Self-nominated at 17:36, 8 August 2015 (UTC).

  • Long enough, new enough, neutral, verifiable. Only false positives for copyvios, no close paraphrasing through spot checking. The hook is cited and interesting, but needs a little work. In particular, it would be less confusing if specific names were used instead of the somewhat obscure honorific "Righteous Among the Nations". The casual reader will not understand the hook with the honorific. I wasn't even sure on first reading if it was an individual or organization. In addition, "rescued" is somewhat vague. The hook likely needs a phrase such as "from deportation" to prevent it from being misleading. I'd propose the following ALT, which would require review from another reviewer. What are your thoughts on this alt, Poeticbent? ~ RobTalk 02:30, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
ALT1: ... that during World War II, Roman Gross was rescued from the Jewish Tarnopol Ghetto by Józef Regent, whom he in turn had rescued from deportation earlier in the war?
  • Thank you for the QPQ, BU Rob13. I think your ALT1 is excellent. I changed "who" to "whom" because it sounded better to my ears. – I know we're not suppose to approve our own hooks but your review is complete, regardless. The new hook says the same thing, but a lot better, that's all. Poeticbent talk 06:10, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
  • Alright, we'll just need another reviewer to quickly give their stamp of approval, then. I think the inclusion of specific names is sufficient to be considered a new fact rather than just a rewording/copyedit, so I won't approve the hook I proposed just to play it safe. ~ RobTalk 06:44, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
  • New enough when nominated. Long enough at 8,528 characters. Article is neutral and cites sources with inline citations. ALT1 is interesting and short enough. AGF for Polish sources. QPQ done. Good to go. sovereign°sentinel (contribs) 05:53, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
