  • Comment: Article was created from work done in a user sandbox, and debuted in the main space on 27 June. Article has not been on the main page before. Article is well over 1,500 characters long (9k+); and outside of the lead section nearly every paragraph is cited to a reliable source. ECD has the highest rate of 2%, and thus isn't a copyvio candidate. It is the creators belief that the article is neutral. Hook information is taken from the article, and reliable sources used for the fact are provided. Image was uploaded onto Wikimedia Commons from flicker, and was a CC2.0SSA license there, and was taken by a photographer who was touring the Mexico-United States border with a group from the Sierra Club.

@RightCowLeftCoast: Here's my review of this nomination. epicgenius (talk) 03:41, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: Yes
  • Interesting: Yes
  • Other problems: No - ALT0 and ALT2 are the best, though probably would be good to specify that the Smuggler's Gulch is between Tijuana and San Diego.
QPQ: Done.

Overall: I personally would specify the locale in the lead. Only after reading the body did I find out that it is near San Diego. epicgenius (talk) 03:41, 29 June 2019 (UTC)

@Epicgenius: Thanks for passing this.--RightCowLeftCoast (Moo) 03:51, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
