Mikael Jonsson

  • ... that chef Mikael Jonsson won a Michelin star at the first restaurant he ever worked in?

Created/expanded by Miyagawa (talk). Self nom at 19:51, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

    • Seems grand to me; hook and article both check out. Might be worth mentioning that the star was revealed in a leak of the 2013 guide though, that sounds like an interesting addition. GRAPPLE X 23:51, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
      • I've made the modification to the hook as suggested - you're right, it makes it catchier. Miyagawa (talk) 12:31, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
      • ALT 1: "... that chef Mikael Jonsson won a Michelin star at the first restaurant he ever worked in, after the 2013 Guide was accidently leaked early?"
        • Re-ticking the change for clarity. GRAPPLE X 14:20, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
  • Sorry, the new hook does not make sense as currently written. (It's why, when hooks change, the new hook should be presented as an ALT rather than editing the old one; the original could might still be approved at this point, but it's gone.) He won the star regardless of whether that information had leaked or not, though the formal announcement was supposed to be a week later, and the leak was retracted and then confirmed. As a hook, the above might hold together if presented that he found out a week early when the list leaked. (Note: it must have been officially released by now, right? It should be official? A source from the official release would be very appropriate to confirm the leak wasn't in error or a hoax.) I'm also troubled by the errors in the article text: it says he opened the restaurant in 2012 but was attacked at it in 2011; one of the references is dated 2011 when it must be 2012, etc. I personally think it's worth mentioning in the article that the attack in 2011 left Jonsson permanently injured, but it's not my call. • Can't say I noticed the misplaced years, sorry to have overlooked that. I restored the original hook above and added the alt separately to see how that shapes up. GRAPPLE X 03:19, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
  • Thanks for restoring that hook. I think, for me, the fascinating thing here is that Jonsson opened Hedone in 2011, and was awarded the Michelin star in late 2012: his first restaurant job was for his own restaurant, and after a 2011 start he received the star the following year. (The article doesn't state outright that the 2013 star is announced/awarded in October 2012, though news broke at the end of September due to the leak. It should make the timing clear, rather than just mention the 2013 star.) This is someone who aimed to start at the top, and did. I can't concoct a hook just now that makes this as interesting as it deserves to be, but it ought to be possible. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:37, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
  • I've modified the article as requested. Miyagawa (talk) 17:01, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
  • Not quite; I had to finish the requested edits. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:41, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
  • Striking ALT1 as still not making sense; proposing an ALT2 to try to get the point across that not only was it the first he'd worked in, but he founded the restaurant himself the year before, which makes it much more interesting:
  • ALT2: ... that chef Mikael Jonsson won a Michelin star at the first restaurant he ever worked in, the year after he founded it?
  • Need a new reviewer for hook and article. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:41, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
  • Article is new enough, long enough and the ALT2 hook is appropriately referenced. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 13:50, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
