- Comment The source is quite recent, and I believe it to be clearly stating that Joy was the youngest announcer ever. This rings true to me as someone with some knowledge of the subject, as usually radio announcers would be veterans who had worked their way up. Given CBS' last long-form radio program ended in 1982 (and I'm not sure if CBS Radio Mystery Theater even utilized a staff announcer), I think it can be held without reservation that Joy was CBS' youngest staff announcer ever. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 12:51, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
- Without a source confirming that he is the youngest in CBS radio history, it would be safer to say:
