Overall: 
This review is for the main hook proposed. While this hook should already satisfy basic DYK criteria, I would still suggest some wordsmithing to more clearly indicate the fact that Soyinka had actually written no novels inbetween, or to reword the hook entirely - e.g. (ALT2) " ... that Chronicles from the Land of the Happiest People on Earth was Wole Soyinka's first novel in nearly fifty years?" - How was this a five-fold expansion? The prosesize tool gives 1755 B (298 words) "readable prose size" for the version before the expansion and 3494 B (586 words) for the current version.
