Birding in New York City
... that Zelda went cold turkey in 2014?Source: Zelda, the Resident Turkey of Battery Park, Is Feared Dead [1]- Reviewed: Template:Did you know nominations/Hamim Tohari
- Comment: Rhododendrites wrote the article, I'm submitting it on his behalf. Technically, this existed in mainspace for a few minutes on 2022-06-11, but the newness check really should be relative to today's move back into mainspace [2]
If we go with ALT0, it might make sense to hold this for November 24th (Thanksgiving in the US, where Turkey is the traditional entree).

- ALT1: ... that birders in New York City have recorded over 400 species? Source: https://www.nycaudubon.org/events-birding/birding-resources/birding-in-nyc "Over 400 species have been recorded here, including many rarities found by passionate and determined NYC birders."

Overall: Great article, you might even go for GA status. Love the "hookiness" of ALT0. -- P 1 9 9 ✉ 17:52, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
- @RoySmith: given that both this and Cranksgiving are quirky hooks, I suggest you pick one to hold for Thanksgiving and one to go through the normal process? theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (she/her) 21:50, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
- I hadn't even realized until after the fact that I had suggested two for Thanksgiving day. My bad. Let's go with the other one for T-day. In fact, I've struck ALT0 on this one; as much as I'm proud of the off-the-wallness of it, I don't think it does the article justice. -- RoySmith (talk) 21:56, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
