Long list of notable people

I suggest that "Notable people" section is getting too long. Possible solutions:

  • Start by defining the criteria for inclusion on the list - possibly add a sentence to the article - this will help with the remaining options.
  • Pare it down a bit - start by removing the people not notable enough for their own articles.
  • Replace it with a link to Category:People from York, Western Australia - although not everyone (with an article) on the list is that category (some of them were not "from York").
  • Move it to a separate article per WP:SPLIT.

I suggest divide it, into sections;

  • Settled in York
  • Worked for brief period
  • Represented York in Politics
  • went to represent other areas in politics
  • those who established foo (businesses, community groups, services for)
  • the designers, architects, builders
  • those that born/lived but left to pursue careers outside York

Then from here it can be split into separate articles following the combine lives of these people who have some life experiences in common. Those that reached exceptional careers directly as result of being from York can be left in the main article. Gnangarra 12:02, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This resource is a shameful example of whitewashing.

One sentence about the original landowners then pages and shards promoting the granted and the latest?
