Talk:Yellow Pig's Day

This was a deleted article. Someone should provide a good reason for its existance, or it will get deleted again. Qqwref 21:07, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've made changes to tone down some of the claims to notability--the references don't support it and I couldn't find anything else on net. Glendoremus 16:38, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My objection to deletion is as follows: Yellow Pig's Day is actually fairly well known in the world of mathematics. I've heard of it, even on the other side of the Atlantic. I would say it is at least as notable as Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival, Night of the Radishes and Turing Days, to pick a few minor festivals at random. Anyway, I think a move to delete this article should be discussed at AfD, so I've removed the prod tag. Gandalf61 12:41, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Putting aside the merits of this article, what was done was rather wrong. Immediately after Yellow Pigs Day was deleted (Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Yellow_Pigs_Day), this article (under a slightly different title) was recreated with the same content to get around it. I don't think a second AFD is needed, as that is a reason for speedy deletion (G4 Recreation of deleted material). I've tagged it. --C S (Talk) 05:37, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

For people who believe the AFD was closed improperly, the right place to bring it up is at Wikipedia: deletion review. But it is just wrong to recreate the article so as to try to put it through another AFD. --C S (Talk) 05:53, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
