User:Dervorguilla, I agree with redirecting the YPG page but you should have added a hat note to People's Protection Units. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 18:44, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

Deletion of last three entries

Removing the "Yellow Pages Group", "Portage la Prairie Southport Airport", and "Phola language" entries per Help:Disambiguation.

Disambiguation pages ... are used [to] resolve conflicts in article titles that [could] occur when a single term ... [is] likely to be the natural title for more than one article. In other words, disambiguations [are used when] different articles ... could, in principle, have the same title.

"YPG" isn't a natural title for an article about Yellow Pages Group (even in principle). Nor is it a natural title for an article about Portage la Prairie Southport Airport or the Phola language.

This edit is also supported by WP:DABABBREV:

We are ... not making yet another dictionary of abbreviations... In particular, don't include ... things simply because of their initials, unless those initials have been widely used. John Fitzgerald Kennedy is widely known as JFK ... so the initials are appropriately disambiguated.

Yellow Pages Group isn't widely known as "YPG". Ditto Southport and Phola. --Dervorguilla (talk) 15:05, 1 July 2015 (UTC)

Move, merge, or make dual revisions?

1. The YPG article can be boldly edited so that it redirects to People's Protection Units (with hatnote), rather than disambiguates.

2. This article can be boldly edited so that it disambiguates rather than redirects.

The "underlying conceptual or factual material" can be copied from the YPG article if the "words used to express [the] idea or convey [the] information" are original with the new author. CMOS, ¶ 4.5 ("Original Expression"). Is this correct?

If not, can the YPG article's page history be moved or merged? Or perhaps just linked from this Talk page? --Dervorguilla (talk) 05:23, 17 December 2015 (UTC)
