Confusing

He was the first to record Deryck Cooke's second performing version of Mahler's Symphony No. 10 in 1972, only the third time a recording of the work had been made.

Can anyone spot a contradiction there? -- Jack of Oz ... speak! ... 20:25, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, you cannot, if you read it properly: He was the first to record Deryck Cooke's second performing version of Mahler's Symphony No. 10 – but there were two other recordings of Cooke's first performing version, and therefore it was only the third time a recording of the work had been made. See also Symphony No. 10 (Mahler)#Synopsis: Recordings of the completed symphony. Whether this is really such a notable fact, is a different matter. --FordPrefect42 (talk) 00:44, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
