Please stop cutting and pasting.

To the IP editor who has been making so many changes during the last several months: you cannot simply cut and paste material from other web sites. This violates Wikipedia policies on both copyright infringement and plagiarism.

Besides that, from its tone the stuff you copied is obviously marketing material for the Project. A Wikipedia article isn't supposed to read like a brochure, it's supposed to be an encyclopedia. People should be aware of the following

Most of the income of this organization is used for "public awareness". That means television commercials, and other things to let the public know that they are there, and that wounded veterans need support. However, only a tiny fraction of the income raised by this organization actually goes directly to wounded veterans. Most of it is spent on staff, who provide advice, counseling, etc., which is nothing but a duplication of what other non-profit organizations have been doing for years.

They do provide some "comfort items" for hospitalized veterans, and for troops in Iraq/Afghanistan (but again, this is duplicating what other organizations provide).

The Federal Government provides 100% of the medical care, vocational rehabilitation, educational expenses and everything else for service disabled veterans. They also provide disability compensation that is 100% tax feee on both the Federal and State levels. Additional benefits are paid for spouses and children of any veteran rated as being 30% or more service connected disabled. This organization does NOT provide any necessary income, services or advice that is not readily available to any veteran free of charge by the Veterans Service officers of: The American Legion, The Disabled American Veterans, The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Jewish War Veterans, Vietnam Veterans of America and many other veterans organizations. NO VETERAN NEEDS TO BE A MEMBER OF ANY OF THOSE ORGANIZATIONS IN ORDER TO GET THEIR ASSISTANCE. They will provide representation before the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), right up through the Veterans Court of Appeals if necessary, at absolutely no cost to the veteran.

In addition, many States and Counties in States provide veterans services, including representation before the Department of Veterans Affairs. They also provide advice, and counseling to veterans, at no cost.

Anyone can see just how much of the income of this organization is being spent on services to veterans, and how those services are broken down, by checking the Better Business Report on this organization. Proposed change

Hi everyone! I manage the social media team for Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), and we'd love to work with you all on this article. I know we're not a neutral source, so we'll put proposed edits to you all with the rationale and citations for the changes we're requesting.

As an easy place to start, it would be wonderful if we could update the date WWP was founded-- it actually isn't accurate in the Roanoke section of the article. It should be 2003. Hello,

In order to update this article to reflect current facts and figures, I will be performing some alterations and updates. I welcome any discussion regarding any changes I make. I am a member of the social media team at Wounded Warrior Project, and will be adding and correcting factual material, as well as adding additional source material to supplement what currently exists, as some of the current material is taken from single sources, without space allocated to additional sources that contain relevant facts. I look forward to working with the all of you as we all labor to put forth the most accurate and informative article possible.

Removed the "Notable Wounded Warrior Project military member"

The individual named in this section cannot be found in our organization's records as ever having been associated with, or indeed, a "member" of Wounded Warrior Project.

I have removed both the section and the content under the section as the content is not factual, rendering the section unnecessary.

The citations for the content in this section remain, although they are now also unnecessary as the information they supported is no longer present, and they are now irrelevant to the overall article. RockStar31 (talk) 21:59, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Honestly, most of the names need to be removed. Half of the article is a list of executives of one type or another, and that is extremely WP:UNDUE to give that much emphasis to something that reliable sources do not. The names need to go, or need to be trimmed down considerably; the article also doesn't need excessive budget and salary statistics. Honestly, looking at the article about half of it needs to be removed because it's pointlessly trivial information. - Aoidh (talk) 03:17, 7 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, WWP is open and forthcoming with all of its financial information. It is easily available on our website and I have no problem with posting links to PFDFs of that information, but compared to all other nonprofit and veteran's service organization there is an undue amount of emphasis on financials.

I appreciate your insight into this, and hope you will work with me to improve the article and present a balanced body of work to explain more about the workings, programs and accomplishments of the organization, as well as any controversies. RockStar31 (talk) 15:11, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that the tags flagging this article as containing excessive, specific information are no longer necessary, and would love to see them come down. I am continuing to build up the article, but I believe that I have made it a more neutral, factual article than it was before.

Admittedly, there is still a ton of work to do, but this will be a gradual process, and I continue to ask for feedback on changes that I make. Request to remove the "Needs Work" banner

Hello all, I would like to propose the removal of the banner that appears at the top of the page. This is (at least notionally) an encyclopedia article, not an abridged website for WWP

This article is not a place to breakdown the various pages of the WWP website into sections. I've trimmed some, but there is still cleaning to do. The Programs section seems excessive and reads more like a brochure than an encyclopedic article. Further, for the charity ratings, listing only the most favorable rating is not appropriate. But what actually brought me to the article was a posting about the "legal scam" claim,[3][4][5] which I was surprised not to find in the article at all.

As it's finals week, I don't have time to work on it more now, but I will contribute more substantially once my schedule opens up. Lara 21:20, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Removed Advertising

Hello, As a veteran myself, I support Wounded Warrior Project, including owning some of your merchandise. However, I removed a sentence detailing Wounded Warrior's affiliation with Under Armour, as it was an overt advertisement for both Wounded Warrior Project merchandise, and for Under Armour.
