Merge from Why Women's Police Stations

@Jessihymel: I've merged content from your article Why Women's Police Stations into this one. I removed statements which were essay-like, and ones which pertained to female police officers in general, rather than these types of stations which specialize in crimes against women. Please respond here if you'd like to discuss this. Nick Number (talk) 17:57, 4 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've undone the redirect. At least the references should be salvaged. I agree the tone is not encyclopedic. fgnievinski (talk) 02:26, 5 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There are only two references there, with multiple links to each. The UN Women one is already used in Women's police station, and the Hendon one discusses female police officers in general, rather than these types of stations which specialize in crimes against women. Unless I'm missing something, it isn't pertinent to this subject. What additional content do you think should be merged? Nick Number (talk) 06:01, 5 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've marked Why Women's Police Stations for speedy deletion, as it is an essay built upon this existing article. I've already merged all relevant content, and that title is not a plausible misspelling. Nick Number (talk) 02:54, 8 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Additions to this Page

Hi, I'm a student at LSU in women's studies and I'm doing a project that requires adding to a Wikipedia page. I would like to add the following to this page: the amount of violence in the country before the station, the reasons why they are needed, their affect on women, and some statistical data showing the overall effects of the police stations. Thanks Ilewis3 (talk) 14:33, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Generally speaking it's fine to be bold and make your additions. There are a couple of guidelines it would be good to look over if you haven't already - it's important to accompany potentially contentious statements with references to reliable sources, and to maintain a neutral point of view, particularly when getting into the subject of why these stations are needed. The goal is to provide well-established facts without straying into advocacy. Please feel free to ask for help if you have any questions. Nick Number (talk) 15:19, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
