Woman's Club HouseWoman's Club House (Manhattan, Kansas) – Revert obtuse move from 2012, to put specific article at city, state disambiguation. Woman's Club House should then be redirected to combo dab Woman's ClubDoncram (talk) 21:54, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). TonyBallioni (talk) 04:04, 24 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not obtuse at all; the move was correct per WP:PRECISE. There is no other article titled "Woman's Club House" and there is a hatnote to the dab page for articles that don't use the word "House". Station1 (talk) 23:55, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Concur with Station1; Woman's Club House wouldn't even be a DAB entry at Woman's Club, but a see-also entry there, as a prefix: partial title match. And Women's Club, Women's club, Womens Club, Womens club, Woman's Club, Woman's club, Womans Club, Womans club, Womens' Club, etc., etc., should all end up at the same DAB page (to account for both typographical errors like "womens'", and actual well-attested variation in organization names – they very frequently drop the possessive apostrophe). However, many of these don't exist, and even the basic Women's club redirects to Woman's club movement. I would suggest that the actual page name of the DAB page should be Women's club per WP:NATURAL and WP:NCCAPS, since not everything relates directly to the awkwardly named "woman's" club movement.  — SMcCandlish ¢ >ʌⱷ҅ʌ<  03:27, 24 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • @SMcCandlish, Station1, and Doncram: procedural RM started. TonyBallioni (talk) 04:04, 24 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support While it's the only one with this specific title, this is probably not the only notable building known as Woman's Club House; for instance, we also have Lyons Woman's Club House, Dawson Woman's Clubhouse (which doesn't have an article yet, but easily could), and enough other notable women's club buildings that some of them are almost certainly referred to locally as the woman's club house. Just because this is the only one that both uses this specific spelling and doesn't have the city in its name (both of which may just be artifacts of how the National Park Service listed it in the National Register) doesn't mean there isn't potential for confusion here. • Support. It turns out that there are many topics in the encyclopedia which could be known as "Woman's Club House" (or "Clubhouse"). "Woman's Club House" should be its own disambiguation page. I have therefore turned Woman's Club House (disambiguation) into a separate page that can be moved over this title. bd2412 T 18:40, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. It looks like there is in fact a need for disambiguation.--Aervanath (talk) 22:07, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
