Outdated information

A fair bit of the text in the "Temperament" section seems to draw from now debunked understandings of wolf behaviour and social structure, describing animal abuse rather than good practice. While the word alpha isn't used, there's more than one reference to dominance and submission interactions from a book citing Schenkel's work on the wolves of Basel zoo; work which has since been found to be describe psychologically distressed wolves in an unnatural social structure rather than normal wolf behaviour.

For context: wolf packs typically consist of a pair of parents, this year's pups and offspring from the previous 1-2 year that haven't dispersed to form their own packs yet, there is no struggle for dominance amongst younger wolves to become the "alpha" and breed with their own parents. The dominance hierarchies, constant posturing and competition, and interactions seen at Basel zoo were an artefact of improper captive conditions due to misunderstanding of wolf sociobiology and works based on these ideas is similarly flawed. Dog training based on these ideas of wolf pack "dominance" and "being the alpha" have been shown to range from ineffective to actively harmful, and I suspect the same applies to wolf training as well. However, I'm (unsurprisingly) not a wolf trainer and can't really improve this myself, so I hope someone can be pointed to this section to improve it.
