• This is new enough, long enough, and impressive, extensive work, written in a careful, encyclopaedic style. I will review in more detail when I finish reading. Neutrality of a potentially controversial topic is handled very well. The only text matches caught by Earwig are publication titles or properly attributed quotations. I think the first hook is the most interesting option and makes it abundantly clear what the article is about. The hook is suitably phrased, succinct, and appears in the article with a suitable source. QPQ done: the nomination was made before 8 March, so the double QPQ requirement does not apply.
