The Sanskrit scholars mentioned in (Briggs, 1994) are: Maurice Bloomfield, Carl Darling Buck, Walter Eugene Clark, James Bradstreet Greenough, Joseph Henry Howard, Arthur Gordon Laird, Charles Rockwell Lanman, Edward Delavan Perry, William Dwight Whitney. The only book-length study regarding any of this scholars, I can find is:
