Insertion of POV

New user Tafkira1953 (talk · contribs) has been repeatedly inserting negative viewpoints of Tilley's statements ("racist language", "anti-semitic tropes") in Wikipedia's voice. This is inappropriate, particularly in a biography of a living person. I am removing them again. --Nat Gertler (talk) 15:43, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The revised section eliminates negative statements about Tilley. It lists that her writings are being monitored and by whom and gives examples. ----Tafkira1953

The latest version you've put in is highly problematic. Step by step:"
  • Monitored by Antisemitism and Anti-Israel Activists - that header indicates that Canary Mission is anti-Israel.
  • Tilley's writings have raised concern among groups that monitor antisemitism and anti-Israel activism such as the Canary Mission - the "groups" claim is unsourced; the source you linked just shows that the one group has done so. And a page on CM is not an indication that CM's coverage is of import.
  • Some of this reaction is due to those who view any disagreement with Israel as antisemitic. - unsourced.
  • Tilley's has claimed that American one-sided support for Israel is due to Israli-lobby and campaign contributions;; - the source article included those among several other reasons for support (business, Christian Right), and again, this statement does not address the supposed topic of the section, which is monitoring.
  • Tilley has defended Iranian President Ahmadinejad’s 2006 Holocaust denial as a reflection of ignorance and distrust of Israeli “canards” leaving people to wonder “if the six-million-dead argument is just another myth or exaggerated tale.” - it's hard to say that calling something "ignorant" is a defense.
I encourage others to edit this down to an appropriate level. --Nat Gertler (talk) 17:34, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I offer this shortened section that lists three groups with links to some of their conclusions

Monitored by Activists Opposed to Antisemitism and Anti-Israel

Tilley's writings have raised concern among groups that monitor antisemitism and anti-Israel activism. The World Jewish Congress has responded to Tilley's work by calling it "propaganda."[1] The Anti-defamation League (ADL) called Tilley's report with Faulk "hostile and biased." ADL described the authors as having "a demonstrable track record of hostility toward Israel." The Canary Mission has documented a list of statements by Tilley, most of which Canary Mission describes as "demonizing Israel." [2]

It seems to me that:
  • These would fall better under a section marked "reactions" rather than the name given, and which would leave room for inclusion of any relevant supportive reactions as well. It's a POV issue to had a section dedicated to negative reaction and not to support.
  • The WJC did not respond to Tilley's body of work, as phrased. It was one individual at the WJC (if a major one), and it was to one work of which she was co-author. It does not depict them as monitoring her work regularly, but rather reviewing this one item. This would go better in the section above, if not in a "reaction" section.
  • The ADL material is unsourced.
  • The The in The Canary Mission really needs to be dropped. It's not part of their name. It makes them sound like a Catholic outpost in old California.
I've made your suggested header a sub-header here, just for proper flowing of the Talk page (so that it looks like part of the extant conversation, rather than a new one.) --Nat Gertler (talk) 02:51, 11 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
