Protection and discussion

Now that the page has been protected, this would seem to be an excellent time to work out the differences between the two sides. There's got to be wording you can agree on, right? Suggest something. Since I've never heard of the group before, I can give fairly-neutral advice... starting with, how about a cite for "approved by the Pope"? I spent quite a bit of time on http://vatican.va, without finding any references to the community's approval.--uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 14:46, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

IThere is a decree which is on paper. It can be scanned as an official source proving the approval by the Holy See and the date. The vatican do not tend to put this kind of information on their offical Web site. There is no problem to offer it ... but where do I put it? I have an objection to the last paragraph. In "headquarters" we have absolutely no records to back up the supposed reports. If an individual has felt affected in some way by an a member of the community it is lamentable but it is a pretty subjective and isolated incident which does not have a place in an objective article about an international community with more than 600 members. If you scan it in, you could use the "Upload file" link on the left. Make sure you give the uploaded file a good name, like "VerbumDeiMissionaryFraternityDegree.png", or "VDMFPapalDecree.png", or something like that. After it's uploaded, you can add it to the article with an edit like [[Image:VDMFDecree.png|thumb|right|Verbum Dei approval from the [[Holy See]]]] -- or, if you don't want to wait, you can use the {{editprotected}} template to request that an administrator add it now. It's still not as good as a link to the Vatican, which is a site that's not under your control, but it's something that I'd be personally interested in seeing anyway.
As far as the removal goes, anybody can use the next couple of weeks to provide links to reliable sources, like newspaper articles, that talk about the alleged cult-like behavior -- and you could find links that explain why the other links are wrong. If they can't support their accusations, it will definitely have to come out. (Bear in mind that I'm not an admin here, so I'm not authoritative -- or at least, no more than an other random editor is. :-) ) (and gee, bot, thanks for the random edit conflict...)--uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 17:07, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, it is difficult for me to understand why the last paragraph of the entry gives the Fraternity such a ill treatment, considering it a cult-like movement. Where are the articles, interviews or facts that support such a statement? 190.82.151.119 (talk) 01:38, 17 January 2008 (UTC))Ed[reply]
