Pronouns

ASUKA identifies as non-binary, or as they describe "genderless". They prefer neutral pronouns. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 101.176.4.172 (talk) 07:59, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Untrue- Japanese doesn't have an equivalent to "they/them" pronouns. "Genderless" is just a moniker; ASUKA/VENY prefers "she/her" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.116.18.196 (talk) 23:45, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Japanese has multiple genderless pronouns such as koitsu (此奴), soitsu (其奴) and aitsu (彼奴). MordecaiXLII (talk) 22:43, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong, Asuka/Veny is genderless. It is not a "gimmick" and their pronouns are they/them. BadGirlRyleigh (talk) 19:58, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

According to Trans Graps, Asuka actually prefers the she/her pronouns.[1] MordecaiXLII (talk) 10:50, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Asuka (wrestler, born 1998)Veny – She now only wrestles under the ring name Veny. Her announcement of this can be found here: https://twitter.com/asuka10272140/status/1698205759774036315 Brendo215 (talk) 17:38, 20 November 2023 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). 162 etc. (talk) 19:36, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Still listed as Asuka here: [1]  — Amakuru (talk) 19:33, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's Asuka (wrestler), who wrestles in WWE. This article is about an independent wrestler who competes mostly in Japan. 162 etc. (talk) 19:38, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Most recent sources were already using Veny (to avoid confusion with Asuka, as seen above), and this tweet confirms that she has 100% adopted this ring name. 162 etc. (talk) 19:47, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
To add some further clarification and evidence, she was previously referred to as Asuka in Japan and Veny internationally[2]. But now she's referred to as Veny both in Japan[3][4] and internationally[5][6]. Brendo215 (talk) 18:14, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
