"College" vs. "Faculty"
The "colleges" should be renamed "faculties", since their actual names are "Facultad de ..." in Spanish. Does anyone object? If no one says anything, I'll change them in a couple of days. DSS370 19:06, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Actually, I favour the "Faculty" thing. College is a denomination used for universities only in the USA. In England they use College for the last two years of secondary school (they call secondary school to what is previous to college though)

I favor "College" instead of "Faculty". And I understand that in Great Britain College does not have the same significance as it does in the US. However, for those of us who graduated from the University of the Republic and who currently work in the US, the term "faculty" can be very confusing: here it is used as synonym of "group of professors" working within a College or University. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.183.196.159 (talk) 04:29, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Listing careers
It may be a good idea to start listing the careers the University offers, both graduate, post graduate and technicals.
Just wanted to point something out... While in Uruguay we refer to a University offering "carreras," the English translation is not "career." A career is "a course or progress through life (or a distinct portion of life)," which is not always determined by what you study. We could use the term "major," which is the standard in the US, but that's not exactly right, since majors in the US imply a considerably greater degree of freedom of choice and exploration of courses than what you find in Uruguay. I think the term "degree" works pretty well, though, and it's used and understood internationally... DSS370 02:28, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
