World Trade Organization

I was surprised not to see in the list the WTO, and added it. And now, I have a doubt: it is an intergovernmental organization, but maybe it doesn't belong to the United Nations system? Some conferences are indeed held at the Palace of Nations (belonging to the UNOG). Can someone clarify? Second Largest UN Office?

The article currently says UNOG is the second-largest after the NYC HQ. On a tour of UNOG in August 2009 the UN-employed guide clearly impressed upon the group that UNOG is larger than the UN International Headquarters in New York. He referenced a figure of 9,000 working on site, so I cannot be sure if he was referring to the size in terms of number of people or in terms of the size of the land and/or buildings; nor too can I be sure of the intention of the author in the case of this article. European HQ??

Could someone cite their source that the UNOG is the European headquarters for the UN? Despite Geneva's office being larger, from what I can tell, UNOG and UNOV (Vienna) have equal standing one step below the main headquarters in New York City. -newkai | talk | contribs 15:27, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Important comment. Check the official site, also Palais des Nations. It is European headquarters in the sense of hosting official operations and conventions, not in hosting more offices. Anyway you may be right. Again see the official site or official document to be sure. For accuracy, I already took some wording from there. I checked UNOG's website, and nowhere does it assert that it's the "European headquarters." It merely states that it's the "representative office" of the UN. Also, the PdN section of the UNOG website merely says that it's the "historic" home of UNOG. I have changed the articles to this effect. Wl219 01:02, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WB HQ??

The article currently lists the World Bank Group as being headquartered at the UN Office in Geneva. This is incorrect - the WB is based in Washington DC. I am accordingly updating the article. 128.125.63.101 (talk) 08:19, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
