Caption Hilarity
On the page, the photo caption identifies this as the port (left) side of USS Paulding, which it clearly is.
When one enlarges the photo, however, the caption misidentifies the subject as the starboard (right) side of said vessel, which it clearly is not. Alice has clearly passed thru the looking glass.

- You could contact the National Archives and complain to them instead of wikipedia where it is apparently correct. They captioned it from wherever they received it. ( https://catalog.archives.gov/id/530782 ) Also, slides or negatives sometimes get scanned or viewed backwards so it could have been a mirror image that the person who wrote the original caption was looking at. --Dual Freq (talk) 03:48, 11 June 2016 (UTC)
