Nurmagamedov v Iaquinta Catchweight needs correction

- its not a catchweight bout.. if it was a catchweight bout at 155.2 then it could not be for the title and neither fighter would be able to fight for the title. Its a lightweight bout.. Both fighters were inside the lightweight limit of 156lbs. theres no debate. if they were over 156, yes, then catchweight. but both without the lightweight limit. its a lightweight bout. however, only one fighter made "championship weight" so only one eligible to win the belt. but "championship weight" and "lightweigh limit" not the same thing Dimspace (talk) 18:24, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
- Per the definition on the UFC website [1]: "A fight in which one of the competitors does not make weight but still takes place is not a catchweight bout." I edited the table cell, adding a citation to FightMetric, which is the official statistics provider for the UFC, and which does indicate when fights are catchweight bouts in its database. - Dana was weird about this one. I agree it would be best to have it as lightweight, but put a note of iaquintas weight of 155.2 (like Yoel at 221). If Iaquinta won, Dana said that although the commission wouldn't recognise him as champ, the UFC would, and the commission agreed that they could do nothing to stop it. - That was a little different. Yoel Romero was over the 1 lb. allowance for even a non-title fight. Unlike in this situation, some of the press did refer to that Romero bout as a catchweight match. There was none of that here. This was original research. Regardless, I believe that the tables should follow both UFC guidance and practice. Neither should be listed as catchweight bouts. Change "Nurmagomedov and his team were inside that bus" to "Nurmagomedov and the other 'red-corner' athletes were inside that bus". Lightwieght Championship
Here goes back and forth issue with the Champion Match..whoever win is the champion then we got another reliable soruce saying only Khabib can win it. - http://mmajunkie.com/2018/04/nysac-executive-director-discusses-ufc-223-chaos-al-iaquinta-title-stakes We must wait and see after the fight to see what happen.
