"American society"

Removing the bit on how "American society" would view her as bisexual. What exactly merits American society to view her as whatever sexuality she is in Wikipedia's eyes? 68.222.30.134 19:39, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tristan Taormino is bisexual so why did you remove it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.185.240.207 (talk) 10:15, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Video Release"

Can someone please update her page to mention her release of "The Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex for Women" as a video. http://www.puckerup.com/402 is a link to the profile of this video on her site.

And doesn't her starring in the above mentioned film and its sequel, cement her as a porn starlet? i.e. that porn star be added as one of her roles. 18:46, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

COMMENT: Porn starlet? No, that term is usually reserved for a new (i.e. rookie) porn star. Tristan Taormino never worked regularly nor tried to work regularly in the porn industry. She appeared in the movies she directed. So that would make her a porn performer, or even past porn performer. See article http://www.villagevoice.com/people/0550,taormino,70899,24.html. Plus you have the title of her movie wrong, the movie based on her book is actually titled "Tristan Taormino's Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex for Women" and it is actually very different than her book. 08:26, 12 October 2007

Also here's an interview w/ her about Chemistry http://www.xcritic.com/columns/column.php?columnID=175 which is a release for Vivid Gkleinman (talk) 22:09, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've put it in. Vinh1313 (talk) 22:39, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non sequitar in Article

Article states:

"Despite being a vocal advocate of nonmonogamy, Tristan supports gay marriage: "I support gay marriage being legalised in every state. I do however think it’s unfortunate that in some cases gay marriage opponents have used the issue against polyamory."

It does not directly follow that marriage must be monogamous. This section seems to say that. Indeed, many other cultures practice polygamy, polyandry or some combination thereof. InsufficientData (talk) 22:23, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

marriage and polyamory are usually regarded as antonyms. Few cultures encourage or even legally allow marriage to extend beyond 2 people. Wq0msh (talk) 13:31, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Name

Maybe I don't get it, but why does she have a male first name? I bet her parents didn't give her that name. Is it part of her queer identity? You never hear about a man, queer or not, adopting a female first name. Why not? And why is the reverse accepted?--Hansung02 (talk) 20:07, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If baby name sites are to be trusted, it's not unusual to give it to females: https://nameberry.com/babyname/Tristan/girl Trivialist (talk) 21:11, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
