Talk:TouchWiz

Am I missing something here? Read Wikipedia's definition of a touch user interface (TUI):

"A touch user interface (TUI) is a computer-pointing technology based upon the sense of touch (haptics). Whereas a graphical user interface (GUI) relies upon the sense of sight, the TUI enables not only the sense of touch(...), it also allows the user (...) an added level of interaction based upon tactile or Braille input."

By this definition Touchwiz is not a TUI, it's a GUI. You can't blindfolded feel your way around the Touchwiz interface.

HTC's interface, "Sense", is defined as a GUI in it's article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.34.213.115 (talk) 20:45, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Better source?

Right now the only source cited in the article that is actually on topic is from stackexchange, which is not a reliable source. --Skyfiler (talk) 00:40, 9 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Especially that there are absolutely no sources to confirm any of the names, brands or uses and then the article also contradicts itself in numbers. Second Paragraph vs. List --Fszeker (talk) 20:08, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

TouchWiz on Galaxy S5

The article at the beginning states that TouchWiz Nature UX 3.0 is the newst and it's on Galaxy S5 but then in the further part of the article on the list of supported TouchWiz versions Galaxy S5 is noted with a 2.5 version of TouchWiz Nature UX. What should we stick to? There is no source on the internet informing about the acutal version? Can an owner of this device confirm the version? Or does Galaxy S5 incorporate Magazine UX[1]?

Read the article, still don't know what TouchWiz is (compared to stock Android)

So I only own several Samsung devices, and as such I assume they all have TouchWiz. I came here looking to understand what TouchWiz adds to Android, to determine if I could live without it if I were to flash my devices with a new OS -- one that doesn't include TouchWiz. This article doesn't at all explain specific features and functionality of TouchWiz. ~ Agvulpine (talk) 15:25, 23 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious

So now that a much refined TouchWiz based on Android 5.0 is out for most GS5 devices, this article needs new information concerning this. I'm not sure where to get the numbers and such from but it is definitely a new version. EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 19:09, 27 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

OS

If Touchwiz is not a OS, so why does Tocco Lite mention that it is?

Why is my OS TouchWiz?, I'M A FEATURE PHONE, I SHOULD EVEN NOT HAVE THE OS CATEGORY

Home screen rotation

Dropping this here as it could be useful to some future editor: The first time the home screen of any pre-installed user interface on Samsung's flagship smartphones officially supported horizontal view was with the early-2018 Galaxy S9, as announced somewhen on its "unpacked" keynote. This Galaxy S4 review blog post from May 2014 shows a screenshot where a rotation control app causes part of the home screen to be out of canvas. (The S4 runs Android 4.4.2, as visible from the grey battery icon. With 4.3 or 4.2.2, it would be green.)

In the YouTube video How To Force Rotate The Home Screen Of All Samsung Android Devices(No Root), dated 2013-09-09, the same was done with a TouchWiz version from approximately 2011, presumably on Android 2.3. All elements are in-canvas there. Archivist127 (talk) 22:46, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
