Talk:Tortilla

Following dissatisfaction with "Tortilla" redirecting to Wheat tortilla, as discussed in the RfD linked above, I've established a small WP:CONCEPTDAB. I don't know if we want it to be more than a brief landing page that links out to Corn tortilla and Wheat tortilla; I've just given a sentence of summary each. If those articles were smaller, I might've just suggested a merge. --BDD (talk) 14:56, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Looks good, I think this kind of brief half-disambig half-article summary is probably the best way to handle this, given the clear relatedness of the terms but separate articles and ambiguity about any primary topic. It could be potentially expanded a little (I'm sure others may contribute other types of tortilla that may be worth mentioning) but this is certainly a good example of a concept dab. ~ mazca talk 14:15, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge

I propose merging nopaltilla into this article. It barely meets GNG on its own; after some searching I found only two independent sources, this tucson.com article and this episode of AC360°. It would, however, be a reasonable topic for a section of tortilla. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 13:00, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That article needs to be deleted. Gandydancer (talk) 16:41, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
seems like nopaltilla is just a product. that section feels like an ad. 2601:643:8800:3760:0:0:0:9BCC (talk) 06:02, 15 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Guam?

Presumably tortillas, corn or otherwise, were imported here from other Spanish colonies in the Americas (if not by American service personal for that matter) and not a development by the indigenous people. Therefore, to say that corn torillas are common here, would be no different than saying they are common in the U.S., Canada, or anywhere else (we saw them in a Mexican restaurant in Hawaii for example) where Mexican food has been imported, so why the callout about how they are popular there with no mention of the United States, etc. (suspect millions more are eaten in the U.S. than in Guam per year for example). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:801:4280:A710:21CD:B55D:6D7F:3D29 (talk) 19:37, 27 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've deleted the mention of Guam, and South America, that was recently introduced by an IP editor.--Jotamar (talk) 16:02, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
