Right-Side Template / Released Songs
I removed the dates (was: 1996, 1996, 1997) due to ambiguity: in Australia, if I'm not mistaken, the dates were 95, 95, 96. Plus, TTMAB was released three times : once in Australia (1995 afaik), once internationally (1996) and again internationally (1998).
So lets just remove the dates (as I did) and keep the order on that nav bar as if TTMAB only came out once. AilaG 01:00, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Uses in Popular Culture
I had always thought this song was in the movie "Contact" but it is not on the soundtrack. I suppose I had just heard this song when the movie came out, since they both were released in the vicinity of 1997. To this day, this song reminds me of that movie. Cityroamer 00:39, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
From ands to Ampersands & Back
While the song is styled as "To the Moon & Back" on the band's album, each of the several single version releases (1997, 1998 and 2004) of the song style it as "To the Moon and Back", as does the Karaoke version appearing as a B-side to the '98 re-release of "I Want You". While these articles purport to be about the songs themselves, in general what the content primarily consists of is information about the recordings and/or the single releases. (We don't often read, for example, that the song was written on a Yamaha DX-7 at 3AM, or on a guitar in the park one afternoon, by the whole band at a rehearsal or by committee at a meeting of record company shareholders, that it took thirty minutes or four months to complete the composition. We usually read where it peaked on this or that chart, when it was released, who produced it and played on it, what the running time is, what mixes were done, and where the song has been featured in films or TV shows, such information being about a recording and/or a single and not a song per se.) As such, the style used in the article—and particularly the style used in the single tracklists—should mirror that of the actual singles, and not other appearances of the recording. The style used in the tracklists for the various albums should mirror the style used on said albums. Searches for the title using the ampersand redirect to the article in any case. American Release Date
I remember seeing the video for To the Moon and Back on VH1 Top 20 in spring of 1998 here in the USA, so would it be OK to list 1998 as the American release date?--ChrisRJ (talk) 08:52, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
