Creation of Page

For those of you who may be wondering why The main page on United States inventions and discovieries was split. It was because I felt that the page warranted two seperate articles. One for inventions and one for discoveries.

You can find the inventions page to its new moved location at Timeline of United States inventions

This current list is very incomplete and there is much to be added. I am hoping others will assist me in doing some research in the future. --Zeppher (talk) 02:50, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deuterium, aka heavy hydrogen

See Talk: Tritium for a more detailed reason why Walter Russell should not be credited with predicting the existence of deuterium. I added the modern name and a few words about Urey's method. Russell's 1926 diagrams actually predict that the 29th element, the one after hydrogen, would have a formal charge of -3. Russell's heavy hydrogen would have been H3D, not DH.
