These timelines need a lot of work. I have started by putting all regnal dates in the 1000-1499 timeline, but it is a lot of work. It might be easiest to have separate English, Welsh, and Scottish Timelines prior to dates of incorporation into the UK as the timelines will quickly become crowded and confusing with all the different monarchs and events for three countries.

The plague of London in 1665 and 1666 needs to be included in the according section right before the great fire.

Superseded timelines

Everything in this timeline from 1800 to the present was long ago superseded by the various year articles (e.g., 1800 in Great Britain). At the very least these should be merged as there's hardly anything to them:

Timeline overview

It's not a good thing to have inconspicuously duplicated content, so I added hats to every section of this article, and return hats from every one of those narrower timelines.

I did that mainly to raise visibility among wikipedia editors, it was not to endorse any particular structure moving forward.

A more traditional structure would be to have the subordinate articles take on the role of main articles, but many of these as they stand are shabby placeholders, hardly fit to call a main article, so I used {more} instead.

The history of the British Isles is insanely complex, and it's not obvious to me that these overviews don't fill a need. But they are not filling a defined need, so far as it seemed to me on the way through, and it's probably not efficient to have this much duplication without a clearly defined purpose.

19th century section

The 19th century of this article is messed up, structurally & I don't know how to repair it. BTW: Looking over the article, it's more a history of the British Isles, rather then a history of the United Kingdom. GoodDay (talk) 19:11, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
