Introductory/Summary Paragraph Is Confusing

Article seems to confuse two different people named Thomas Simpson Hall. Nothing in the article mentions him living in the United States, establishing colonial settlements in regions settled before his birth, and has no mentions of his supposed connections to Abraham Lincoln.
