The "Thesmorphia" (!) page should be deleted

An illiterate error, the Thesmophoria were never called that, and someone ignorant of the etymology, but with a vague memory of the facts, threw up that page. Bill 09:52, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wasn't it winter?

Megara?

Final entry mentions the megara of Demeter, but the link goes to the city and I can find no megara on Wikipedia that makes sense of this sentence. Could someone kindly elaborate? Gypsydave5 (talk) 20:51, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing this out. It's slightly complicated: the megaron (singular) of Demeter was a trench or pit or cleft, as the article says, though it mostly appears in the plural. I've been meaning to check into this for a while, but I'm assuming that megaron in this sense is a symbolic or ritual designation of the pit as the "great hall" of Demeter?
