Elizabeth makes homage to the Virgin Mary to show her devotion by slightly raising her left hand to kiss her." -- this is really rather subjective. Would be fine as a quote. Leaving for now at least as I suspect that when I check the sources I will find it is a bad translation of library materials. Which would be fine with the attribution I am thinking of adding.
