Nowism and lack of history
The article seems to reflect how a tailor is viewed only in terms of the 21st century and predominantly in the first world. The article could do well to focus on some of the history of tailoring, the sweatshops of the 19th century and the current situation in the third world in the 21st century. — billinghurst sDrewth 03:51, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
- The article is also woefully spare on citations, and reads like original research--ie, one's personal experience. I fixed some of the wording in one section, but the article really needs re-written with sources cited. Count Robert of Paris (talk) 16:02, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
This article is largely unsourced
I’ve deleted the “types of tailoring” section since it didn’t have any sources. I noticed someone reverted my edits for probably their preferred content. However, I reverted that, because until they have a reliable source, it will be removed. 68.97.131.85 (talk) 19:45, 11 April 2022 (UTC)

- Agreed. I saw your initial removals on my watchlist, and thought your reasoning was sound. But I've done my share of reverting massive removals by new editors or IP editors just because it's so often vandalism, and probably was wrong in some of those cases. - Yes, it seems that most people who are temporarily blocked for vandalism, usually reside in their IP account to be ‘unnoticed’. It’s not a surprise that most vandals do these poor habits. The Oxford English Dictionary states that the word 'tailor' first came into usage around the 1290s, and undoubtedly by this point, tailoring guilds, as well as those of cloth merchants and weavers were well established across Europe.
