Staff Level Headline

Should the Staff headline be Level 2? --Mayfare 00:32, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uncited criticism

The article now has a big "criticism" section with no citations other than one link to a minor blog. That criticism needs to be supported by citations to reliable sources, or it has to go. See WP:V. --John Nagle (talk) 16:26, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can anyone find backup citations for the "Criticism" section? It reads like a rant. Unless some backup appears, I'm going to delete that whole section in a week or so as original research. Thanks. --John Nagle (talk) 18:04, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As the manager of StopBadware.org, I can say that much of the criticism section is unfounded. We have certainly received our share of criticism, some legit, some misguided, but I'd hardly call it "broad" or "damning," and many of the facts stated in this section about our process are false. There are also a number of outdated facts elsewhere in the article. For example, our current list of sponsors can be found at [1]. --Maxim Weinstein 15:08, 24 March 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Maxim0512 (talkcontribs)
Deleted the entire "Criticism" section due to lack of sources per WP:V. --John Nagle (talk) 07:06, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh noes, wikipedia is bad

Or so google thinks. [2] lists this page as the second hit, with a big fat warning that wikipedia may harm your computer. Just my 2¢, and unfortunately original research done by myself 5 minutes ago. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rubik-wuerfel (talkcontribs) 14:52, 31 January 2009 (UTC) [reply]

Edit: Maybe I was too quick... Read the news tomorrow and nevermind --Rubik's Cube (talk) 15:03, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Currently Google lists all websites as malicious. Also the website of stopbadware is not reachable. I'm waiting for their explanation, this seems like a big fuckup on their site. --95.117.224.164 (talk) 15:04, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'd suggest that the google issue was because StopBadware went down, not the reverse... EAi (talk) 16:01, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
StopBadware.org gets our data from Google, not the other way around. The statement we posted on our blog this morning: http://blog.stopbadware.org/2009/01/31/google-glitch-causes-confusion. - Erica George, StopBadware.org staff —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.78.26.134 (talk) 17:30, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

outdated?

Stopbadware.org's search page now directs people to Google. Their suspicious-URL submission page says that its CAPTCHA is broken and directs people to send e-mail. Formerly, e-mails got both an autoreply and a human response. Now, e-mails get only an auto-reply. Does StopBadware still exist as an independent organization, and if so, then what does it do? 108.31.167.36 (talk) 21:21, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have put the page into past tense, since the site (using CloudFlare) has been dead (spewing only errors) for the last years, and no other contacts methods seem to have been left behind. If anyone have a better source of the reasons or the context of the closure feel free to share. -- grin 18:12, 25 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
