Types of Stern

I don't have the knowledge to add the following, but it would make a nice addition to the page. Yes, this would be very useful indeed. The ones I can think of right now are

Major reworking

I have just finished (well, sort of finished) adding a lot of new material to this piece as well as a professional diagram of an elliptical stern. scraping all this info together was mind-bending, and I am still not entirely sure I got it all right! Having said that, I think the stream of new citations and some text that really parses out the different types of stern makes this piece seven-fold better and more useful than it was even just a week ago. Merger proposal

I am proposing that the article on the Constanzi stern be merged into this article. As it is, the Constanzi article is a stub-- here it could join all the other types of stern in a unified stern-related article. KDS4444^Talk 10:50, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

Note that the talk page for Constanzi stern had no "discussion" in it: it only contained a few templates, and nothing material to copy over or link to from here.

• "simply ugly-- no" ugly sounds really unprofessional. Is there a replacement?
• italicise "Brandywine" in "USS Brandywine".

Transerm term

• "In naval architecture, The term 'transom'" de-capitalise "The" and italices "transom".
• replace hyphen with – in "1840-1920"

Elliptical stern and Cruiser stern

• "this despite the fact that it left the rudder exposed and vulnerable in combat situations." → "despite the exposure and vulnerability in combat situations".
• shouldn't there be inverted commas somewhere in "canoe stern, parabolic stern, and the double-ended stern"?
• link "warships"
• much of "Cruiser stern" in unsourced.

Other types of stern

• "A The Constanzi stern is a type of stern designed for use used on ocean-going vessels"
