Hello! I believe this page should be kept on Wikipedia because it offers information to Canadians about an alternative art collective working in Toronto. This page is not being used as a promotional tool, as the Toronto community as well as the Canadian government already support Steel Bananas - financially and otherwise. The zine as well as the art group do not work for profit, and special projects are funded by the Canada Council for the Arts. I just believe that there should be more information online about the large community of alternative artists working in Canada, considering that so much of Canada's artistic image is subsumed by conservative commercial art. Sure thing - I didn't edit my name out to cover up a conflict of interest, I just figured the editorial staff changes and grows all of the time, so I might as well leave specific names out. It's all over the Steel Bananas about page in the references, considering I started it up, so that would be a tad hard to hide, ha. Another site writing about the Steel Bananas "guerilla academia" : Torontoist, lhttp://torontoist.com/2009/11/this_shit_is_steel_bananas.php, and I guess I just have to be quiet and see if anyone else wants to defend SB. Oh! Also, SB is proudly supported by other organizations in the community, who periodically write about our projects and give us free ad space, including Broken Pencil Magazine and Open Book Toronto - two awesome and integral parts of the alternative art/literary scenes. Thank you, I want to make it clear that I'm not judging your organization. I actually think it sounds really cool. Just makesure it's something can have an article according to our policies.
