Organizing Subsections

I noticed improvements in spelling; and improvements in the article generally -- my sense is this information is more correct than before. Good job! Wonder if anybody figured out I use American spellings (organization) versus British/New Zealand spellings (organisation). Sorry about that. I'm a New Jerseyan. I still think this is one of the BEST articles about any statistical agency in the world (although I haven't hunted around that much.) This article could greatly benefit by more pictures

Pictures of questionnaires. Pictures of the SNZ office. Pictures of SNZ people. Pictures of SNZ studies. Pictures of SNZ computers. If you work for SNZ or live in NZ and can take pictures, please do so, upload to Wikimedia Commons, and include them in the article. cleanup template

Rather speculative section

"Perhaps in the future users will have the power to access a virtual database of updated census counts, that is, to access a virtual database created "as if the census was taken when the table was being pulled together" -- and by using filters, weighting, projections, and easy-to-use software tools, create data which describes "what's happening now". In the example, with such capabilities, one could say how many married (never-separated) Wellingtonians living in Lambton there were "right now". Further, projections could be made. But there is no evidence in the Statistics New Zealand website that such a capability is yet offered, but it is possible this may happen in the future."

This all just seems to be speculation. As it is I think the quoted material should just be removed - I like the idea, but I don't think it really belongs in the article. Perhaps if there was some indication that this might happen, or some comparison with other national statistics offices that do do this? I believe Stats NZ has a data lab that will provide customized data requests, perhaps something could be written about this, if there are published sources. ==Assessment of Quality of article -- "Statistics New Zealand"== I've been working on this article. I think it's much better than before. But I can't find that much information from third-party neutral reputable sources about the size of the agency, its budget, how many people do which tasks, how much this costs, how many people do the census. I don't feel I've trolled the official Parliamentary information enough to learn new things (I bet there would be good, solid data in there, but it takes time to sift through!) I bet more published information is out there somewhere, it's just that I haven't found it yet. Great source of information when one can get it -- The Economist magazine. I'd also like to get more INTERESTING stuff about how it works, perhaps what people think about the census, and such. Much of the information available is from the SNZ agency itself. Couldn't find that much about the gLDP programme (not sure about count 10 to 15 graduates each year hired -- I remember reading it, but I don't think the source points to that fact.) Oh dear, many of the refs are out of date. The article content refers to Table Builder, but this isn't very evident on the current Statistics NZ website. Is it still used? --Pakaraki (talk) 19:57, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
